Just like you have bad experiences at some hotels, you can have the BEST also. We went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and stayed at the Marriott OceanWatch Resort. WOW! It had a feel of living on the beach which was breathtaking. The kids had the best time since the resort was so kid-friendly. As a mom, I loved the fact that the hotel took time to think about the precious time a vacation is to most families. The kids could run off in a safe environment and have "kid" fun and the adults, well, we could sit by the pool, beach or tiki bar and enjoy some well deserved R&R time.
The Ocean Watch is a vacation club timeshare, so it is not inexpensive if you go as a non-owner, but you have the luxury of a full kitchen, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, and the on-site amenities. You can always go with one or two more families and share the expense and experience.
The hotel staff was one of the most professional and courteous that we had encountered in all of our travels. This vacation is one that all of us will remember forever and mostly because the hotel exceeded our expectations. So if you ever travel to Myrtle Beach, make sure you look into the OceanWatch. http://www.marriott.com/
